Crescencio "Chenco" Ortiz pulled himself up by his garter straps after his father's will yanked the financial rug from under his spank-me pumps. He doesn't need anyone, yet when Steve Vance steps into his life, the prospect of having a sexy leather daddy on tap begins to take on a certain appeal.
There's a hitch when he learns Steve is friends with Mitch Tedsoe - the half-brother Chenco never knew except through his father's twisted lies. Despite his reservations, soon Chenco is living his dreams, including a performing gig in Vegas. Now if only he could get Steve to see him as more than just a boy in need of saving.
Steve's attraction to Chenco is overshadowed by too many demons, ones he knows his would-be lover is too young to slay. Yet as he gets to know the bright, determined young man whose drag act redefines fierce, Steve's inner sadist trembles with need. He begins to realize Chenco's relentless tough love might be the only thing that will finally set him free.
Warning This story contains glamorous drag queens, exhibitionist secondary characters, and no-holds-barred BDSM play, including watersports. Listeners are advised they may well leave this novel feeling uncharacteristically fierce.

This is the third (and I hope not the last) book in the Special Delivery series. Mostly, this book is, like its predecessors, is a fabulous read. The reason that I hesitate recommending it to everyone is the extreme BDSM that is central to the book. I have read many books with a BDSM themes and enjoy them if they meet my personal criteria which is that every scene is fully consensual, is part of developing the sub's initiation into the lifestyle or to put a sub into subspace to relieve him from some mental agony he is undergoing, and is between a sub and a dom who are in love or falling in love. All those criteria are met in this book, but a few scenes were so harsh (particularly needle play) that I was somewhat squeamish when reading it so I don't think that anyone who does not enjoy BDSM play in a book probably should not read this one. One other reviewers questioned why Heidi made this part of a series. The answer seems very obvious since Sam, Mitch, Randy, and Ethan all played a major role in addition to Steve, in developing Chenko)Caramela's evolving personality, as well as helping him overcome the terrible situation that he found himself in at the beginning of the book. It also was delightful to see this "family" continuing to love their mates and their friends since we last read about them in the last two books in this series. All in all, except for my above reluctance, this is a terrific book as all of Heidi's books have been, so I highly recommend that you buy it, read it and enjoy it.Product details

Tough Love Special Delivery Book 3 (Audible Audio Edition) Heidi Cullinan Iggy Toma Insatiable Press Books Reviews
I almost went into subspace myself from reading this book. And now I'll be needing some aftercare. As a masochist myself, loving needle play and whips and floggers, the BDSM scenes in the book were amazingly well written and believable. Yes, they were intense and not necessarily for the faint of heart, but they were perfect for those of us who enjoy that.
The love story was just as intense. I loved the way Steve took such good care of Chencho and I loved how he finally let Chencho take care of him as well. No one is ever too Dom to be human and have needs to be taken care of. I'm so glad to see that humanity in Steve.
I never really got the whole drag queen thing. I just thought it was men who liked to dress that way for effect. I didn't really get that they might actually have a different character inside them. Caramela was so different than how I'd thought about drag queens before. I loved getting to know her and I really loved how everyone talked to her and understood her.
This was an amazing book. I really didn't do a good job of reviewing it. I will read this book over and over. I love these characters.
Wow! This one has a lot going on but it is so worth reading. Chenco amazes me with his strength. He and Caramela are two sides of the same coin. It impressed me that Steve acknowledges Caramela as her own identity. Of course, the guys from the previous books are there and together we get to see that they really are a family. They stand together; loving and supporting one another no matter what. Gordy creeped me out and left me infinitely sad, but Chenco made me cheer with how strong he is for Steve.
This one is scorching hot with BDSM; heavy on the S/M.
Highly recommended author and series
Adult read
I love Heidi Cullinan and have read most of her books. I have read and really enjoyed the previous 2 books in the Special Delivery series. But this one didn't work for me. The sex didn't work at all for me, but I just skipped over that, that's not what bothered me. It was the relationship dynamics, the group dynamics and the mary sue ending that didn't work for me. I know that romances by definition are fantasies, but after a really complex start, everything was way too wrapped up and pretty by the end, and the resolution with Gordy didn't work for me at all.
I also found that a character I had really liked previously - Mitch Tedsoe, who is the brother/link in this book, had almost no personality/agency here, though Randy shone bright and true as always.
I love HC and will autobuy her next one, but unless you are the kind of person who needs to complete every series, I would skip this one.
I was very hesitant to read this given that one of the main characters is a sadist, but I had read the other books in the series, wanted to continue, and figured I could skip the sex scenes. I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy most of the book, and the sadism was ok because the author portrays the sadist, Steve, as always very concerned with informed, freely given, and continuous consent, and with using his sexual practices to help his partner deal with his mental health challenges. She also has Chenco, his partner, jump on the bandwagon immediately and enthusiastically. While it was a bit hard to believe Steve just stumbled across a fairly hard-core masochist, it made the sex scenes bearable.
The only part I found myself tempted to skip was the one scene containing needle play, but the fact Steve and Chenco were doing it to each other--though Steve was still dominant through a lot of it--was just enough to keep me reading. I found the explanation of what Chenco got out of his masochism very interesting, though it seemed several times like he would have benefited much more, and longer term, from an excellent therapist than from another session of intense pain. I wasn't as clear on Steve's motivations. He did describe how he began playing with pain as a young child, and how he enjoyed manipulating his partner's experience to give them what he felt they needed, but I would have liked to hear him spell out what all his motivations were, and what the experience was like for him.
The rest of the story kept my attention, and I enjoyed that the characters from the previous books were present throughout. The entire series contains a lot of fairy tale-like fixes, and this was no exception, but I enjoyed it anyway. And I think the book would be enjoyable even if the reader decides to skip the sex scenes.
