One of my main gripes is that I could find no indication as to HOW old Lincoln and Faye were! We're they in their forties or fifties? I have the same problem with the other books too. It helps to visualize characters to know their general age.I also had a problem with the hero's constant internal references to being the alpha. AND, there were so many sex scenes, that I began to skip over them.

I have been reading Zoe Chants books for a while now and there is a reason I keep reading her work. She is an AWESOME Paranormal Romance author. No matter how many she put out you can’t make yourself stop reading them. When you start reading you can’t put them down. “Second Chance Lion” is no different. A book you do not want to miss. Now I am going to have to go back and read the first three so I can understand better their connection to Lincoln’s and Faye’s story. Can’t wait.
Lincoln and Faye grew up together. Both are children of farmers and good friends. (Faye crushed on him for a long time), one thing is Lincoln is a Lion Shifter and Faye is human. Circumstances beyond Faye’s control cause her family to have to sell their farm and move to the city to work. Lincoln’s family lives on a pride and his father was the Alpha of the pride, until he was killed then it fell to Lincoln. Lincoln was young and he keep having feeling about Faye but just wasn’t sure if she was mate or not. Since she was gone he married a shifter that arranged for him and had two sons, Joe and Casey, he also raised his nephew Mason as his own son. But when Faye moves to town she has feelings of wanting to run into Lincoln. When she finally did meet him, boy did the sparks fly. But Faye was very strong and independent and she couldn’t grasp all the fated mate and stuff about shifters, even though she was one of the few that knew they existed. So, know there are two people who are head strong, stubborn and set in their ways. Can Lincoln learn to give Faye the time that she needs to adjust to the life she would have with him? Will he Lincoln keep his Alpha positon or give to his son Joe for love of his Faye?

I love all her books but was really disappointed in this book. Truthfully did not care for the other books in this series. Truly disappointed .😒
I just love Zoe Chant's books. They are well written and fun to read. This is the fourth book in the Cedar Hill Lions series.
We find Lincoln Whittaker struggling with not only regretting his lost mate, but with accepting change from the old ways. He has learned to mellow on somethings he never thought he would. Taking human mates had been forbidden when he was growing up now the Pride had a total of three human mates.
Faye has returned to Cedar Hill after years of absence. She was forced to move away when her parents lost their ranch. She has never forgotten her first crush. Will she meet Jake again or can she avoid seeing him? Will she be able to make a go of the old mansion left to rot away? Will she learn she is Jake's mate? Will Jake be able to overcome the old ways enough to win Faye over to being his mate?

I really enjoyed this book. Well written. Could not put it down. Fits well within the series.

I couldnt even finish it. I was excited ti read about Lincoln, but i wish he had a different heroine. Or maybe a different story.
